FAQ for Cat

car accidents

1. Approach cautiously. Alert oncoming traffic.

If you cannot keep traffic stopped, try to take your cat safely to the side of the road before examining her. Take care to not worsen any obvious fracture or limb displacement.

2. If your cat appears to have a spinal injury, place her on a flat board for transport.

3. If the cat is not alert, check her ABCs and provide CPR if needed.

4. Immediately take the cat to a veterinary hospital. Even in very serious cases, a cat may get up and attempt to walk away.

Internal injuries caused by trauma may not show up for 12-72 hours, so your cat needs to be seen by a vet.
